Drewvale ALDI

Yesterday, ALDI opened a new store in Drewvale. I heard this is an Up Market Version, which is different than other ALDI stores.
Thus, I visited this store when I was off from work. Yes, this store looks different. The store entrance looks more high-end and a lot of parking space!

For the inside of this store, the shelves placed more neatly; the aisles are wider than the others stores too. The light is also specially designed. That is softer! The signboards are also big, very clear.
It looks fresh. It looks an upmarket supermarket rather than other ALDI which looks a budget store.
As for the goods, same as other Aldi, there are a lot of their home brand products and the most popular weekly limited specials. However, it seems to have more major brands products.

Perhaps, I have high expectations for this Aldi, I think this store is a little bit small, and the mall where the store located only have one other store, a medical center, there is no other shop, that is quite inconvenient.

In summary, the store is not bad; I like this store.

That is not unusual to receive some letters with the correct address, but the recipient is neither you, your family nor your housemates. If you are just moving a new house, that will happen at all. Usually, the old tenants forgot to change the address to all companies which they used their service; you will receive the letters from the companies related to him/her. The solution is simple, if you are living in Australia, you just need to write on the envelope, “No Such Person” or “Return to Sender,” even you can add “Please Update your record,” then you just need to put the letter to any AusPost postage outlet, without stamps, that is a free service. So that you can send back the return address, and they will know your home without this person, should not send any letter to him/her. However, please remember not to open the letter, opened lettered will require the postage again, and other people’s letters are not allowed you to open that. Also, you should not put those letters directly in the bin; this is someone else’s property!

Steak Monday @Calamvale Hotel

I saw a number of my friends tried the steak in Calamvale Hotel. Finally, I had a chance to have that few weeks ago with my family.
That was on Monday. In every Monday, there is a special on the Steak. There is a steak meal on special, just $14.50. You do not need to buy any drinks at all; you still can have this special. That is a good deal. On that day, a Rump Steak main course was on Speical. That is a good deal. The main course included a steak, a bowl of Salad and chips. The portion isn’t small. I do not eat beef. Thus, I do not know whether it tastes good. But my relatives ate that, their feedback is good. For myself, I ordered a chicken breast. It tasted not bad and looked good!

Besides of food, the environment is good. This restaurant looks clean and fresh too. I will recommend you to try their Steak Monday.

SkatingAt Festival(Winter Festival)

Now is the winter time in Brisbane, but the lowest degree in Winter time is only around 7-8 degree. Thus, we cannot see the snow.
However, you can go to SkatingAt Festival(which used to call Winter Festival ) to have a snowy winter.
From today to 9th July 2017, a giant ice rink and ice slide have setup in King George Square. I believe you can skate in there. But you need to pay the entry fee, Adult $26, Children (8 to 13-year-old) $19, Kid (3 to 7-year-old) $12.(Buy online ~20% off).
Also, there are some food trucks next to the ice rink. They offer some hot foods, which is the best for the cozy winter, such as German Sausages and wood fired pizza.
That sounds cool, I think you should not miss this event.

Sunnybank $2 Food Trail Summer 2016

This Saturday (17th June,2017), Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park will hold Sunnybank $2 Food Trail again. I think that is an very effective campaign. This event will be held twice per year. On that day, from 2 pm to 8 pm, the participated restaurants in those two shopping centers will offer $2 tasting plates. Besides, the ranges of the dish on the offers have wide range of choices, such as Chinese, Japanese, Hong Kong Style, Vietnamese, Korean and Taiwanese styles. Also, because we are in the Summer, this times, some restaurants will offer chilled desserts and they mentioned some other new mini tasting dish. According to their website, this event is only about food; there will be some live entertainments too, such as live performance from
local musicians and traditional roaming lion dancers . This year, they will have a dedicated Kids Zone. There will be face painting, board games and colouring-in. I think the kids will have fun too!

End of Financial Year Sale

June is the month of End of Financial Year Sale in Australia. I heard about the reason to have this sale season from my friend who came to Australia a few years before me. He told me the department stores to sell all of their inventories before the End of Financial Year. This sale can make their balance sheets looks better.
Nowadays, I think this sale season is an excuse to make a quick sale. As a customer, any kinds of discount is good. I found a lot of stores got a huge discount from 50% to 60%, such as David Jones, Myer, H&M, and Bonds. I saw a jacket at H&M for $20 something in H&M last week. Lastly, I was in Target on last Thursday. There was a flash sale, within the hour, all clearance clothing got further 50% off. I bought two infant t-shirts which about $2 each!
Thus, during two weeks, if you have time, that is good to go a major shopping mall. Maybe you can find some good stuff.

Dyson AM05

In Brisbane, the cold winter has arrived. For the preparation of this, I bought Dyson AM05 Hot and Cool Fan. It can give us a warmer winter, and BigW got a good deal for $399. So, I got that in Harvey Norman (because that is such good deal, BigW has already sold out, so I did a price match in Harvey Norman).
Firstly, that is a bladeless fan which sounds safer if you have a kid at home. I do not worry our daughter to put her hand on the fan. Secondly, it looks cool! Thirdly, the fan is quite powerful.
But there are two disadvantages. First one is very noisy. I won’t put that next to my bed. Someone told me the latest model, AM09, got a significant improvement in this aspect, but it is more expensive. Secondly, that is the price, although I got a good deal. That is three to four times more expensive than buying a fan and a heater.
Lastly, I have used this fan for a few weeks, and I still love it!
