NOOSA Chocolate Factory

Recently, the new extension of Garden City is opened. A number of new shops were introduced there.  One of new landmark stores is Noosa Chocolate Factory.  They offer a lot of number unique styles of hand-made chocolates such as blue berries and  sunshine coast macadamias.  By the way, I love their display shelves too. They made of wooden boxes. I love that of simplicity style!

Also, this branch has a cafe too. You must try their chocolate drinks.  Some of my friends highly recommended.  Moreover, you can choose the chocolate level. I suggest 56% if chocolate, that is not too sweet.

Yeah! There is another place to have a non-alcoholic drink in Brisbane!

Congee Breakfast @Cathay Pacific

Recently, I travelled to Hong Kong from Brisbane by Cathay Pacific. The breakfast I had at the flight was a bowl of seafood congee. That was a first times I had congee at the sky!  During that flight, I was not very well, I felt I did not want to eat much. That bowl of congee was 100% suitable for myself. Inside that, there two pieces of fish and a prawn. That was great!

Recently, I tried a new coffee,Cafe Madeleine, next to Hoyts Cinema  in Sunnybank Plaza. Their shop front looks beautiful, I think they hired someone to design that.

Besides of the shop front design, their food tastes good and great values. Last times, we ordered a seafood pan pasta which sounds like a Korean-Italian fusion dish.

Seafood Pan Pasta

I love the sauce, which is very creamy. Moreover, it had a lot of seafood, such as squid, shrimp, mussels and fish. Wow, I paid $8.80 and I cloud have that many types of seafood, that was great value for money.  Moreover, that $8.80 meal included a piece of garlic bread.

garlic bread.

If you go there after 2.30pm, you can try their omelet rice which is only $9.90. I tried their creamy chicken omelette rice.  I loved their omelette, which is fried very well. Inside the omelette, there were tasty chicken fried rice.  Of course, I loved their creamy sauce too.

In addition, this $9.90 deal included a cup of orange juice.

Strawberry SeasonCurrently, Brisbane and surrounding areas are in a Strawberry Season now! I think that is the time for strawberry picking. There are some strawberry farms in Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast which are good for this activity. I believe you and your family can enjoy a whole day in there.

Besides, there are many fruit shops around put their strawberry on specials for that season! Yesterday, I bought a pack of strawberry for 70 cents in a fruit shop at Carindale. Such a good deal. Please check it out in your local fruit  shop. Don’t miss out this opportunity!

Tasty EKKA

EKKA is not just about animals.  There are a lot of tasty food!

Firstly, I must talk about strawberry ice cream which is the most famous food in EKKA. Some of my friends said you can only have it in EKKA.

That is a kind of very special ice cream. At the most top level, there is a whole strawberry. Next strawberry ice cream is under placed under that.  Then there are some sliced  strawberry inside the cup. Finally, at lowest level,  vanilla ice cream is placed at the base. It tasted different in each level. That is very very tasty.

Please remember this hut, You can buy this kind of icecream for $5 each and there is always people lining up.

Secondly, I wish to recommend Cheese Toastie at the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion. It is only $ 2 each. Tasty toast with cream cheese. I love it. I saw a few people bought that too!

$5.99 Bento Lunch Box @ Half Time Tea Bar

Last Monday, I have tried a special lunch box at  Half Time Tea Bar in Market Square. That is very value for money! It only costs $5.99. Although its size is not very big, it is big enough as a lunch box.  It has  braised pork, half of  a sausage, a few slices of tofu, half of  an egg, vegetables, beans and rice. Well we can have meat, vegetables, and a variety of side dishes. That is not bad for $5.99.

The most important things is its taste. It is not bad at all. I only paid $5.99.  I think its quality can be considerable as a “good” for $5.99.

If you are lazy to make your own lunch and do not want to spend too much on that, I think this bento box is a good option for you!

From tonight to 27 July, every night, a night market holds in Culture Forecourt, it calls “Night Noodle Markets“.Actually, that is a major event during Good Food Month, Brisbane.

Last night, we went to that events. That was full of people and most of stalls had a few people lining in front of them. Moreover, there were a lot of various types Asian food,  such as Japanese Ramen, Dim Sum and Malaysia Roti. It looks like a Asian hawker market.

I and my wife tried a stall calls Okonomi, we ordered a Japanese Style Pizza. There were a long queue in there. We spent half hour for waiting.

No worries, the chief  used “stir fry” style for making Japanese Style Pizza is a kind of performance.

This Saturday, I and wife went to KU-O for lunch. I found there are some special lunch sets, they are around $12 included a tea and salad.
We love Sashimi a lot! Thus, we ordered Kaisen Don which is a kind of sushi rice with Sashimi on top, but we spent a bit more, Kaisen Don Lunch Special is $15.90, well, that is still more value for money than just ordering Kaisen Don($14.90).
Kaisen Don@KU-O
Although that was a lunch special, that was a full-size Kaisen. It had a few types of Sashimi, such as Tuna, Salmon and Prawn. That was tasty, both of us loved it a lot!!!

The first suggestion is  Hanaichi.  About ten years, when I was still in university, I have been already “addicted” with their curry, I had my lunch in there about three times per week. Their curry is tasty and value for money. $8.90 is for a big bowl of curry rice. That is huge!

During these recent years, many Korean restaurants opened in sunnybank area. I tried many of them.

Maru is one of my list. This restaurant is located in the heart of sunnybank, just next market square. I tried their Bibimbap (Hot Stone Rice). That is not bad, I felt full, after I had this.
